Are you wanting to setup a server or run the client?

I still run 8. Version is pretty insignificant in the world of Linux.

But if you are wanting to run client there is not really one available.

Yes it is possible. You will need to find the rtcw server files (I don't have a link handy, sorry) for version 1.1 or 1.0. Then upload the 2.4.0 files and overwrite any that are in conflict. You can find 2.4.0 from the main page under downloads. To start the server i think its
Code:
./wolfded.x86 +set dedicated 2 +exec your_server_config.cfg

If you don't have ftp access, you can still transfer the files over sftp (which uses the ssh port).

There should be some stuff on the wiki. I'm not sure, but I think you could still run a 32 bit server on a 64 bit os.
